So you’re at the beach splashing around in the bliss of ignorance, but then you get an awful gulp of seawater that you leaves you snorting and spluttering and making uncomfortable faces all the nasty taste of salty seawater. 

Afterall, it’s just salt and water, right? Wrong. 
Sorry to break it to you, but that gross taste is more than just salt. It’s the taste of an ecosystem. Well, a small part of one. Thanks to micro-photographer David Lightwatcher who captured this amazing shot of a single drop of seawater magnified 25 times, you can see what it actually contains.
The wonderful photo below shows a minor selection of the crab larva, diatoms, bacteria, fish eggs, zooplankton, and even worms that exist in a mere drop of sea-water. Through the right set of eyes you could almost call it cute.
