In terms of broadcast versus cable during Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, it wasn’t really a contest. Cable networks swept the night, such as Showtime, which walked away with two awards for “Homeland” (best drama; Claire Danes, actress in a drama), along with one for “Episodes” (Matt LeBlanc, actor in a comedy).
HBO garnered trophies for “Enlightened” (Laura Dern, actress in a comedy); “Game of Thrones” (Peter Dinklage, supporting actor in a drama); and “Mildred Pierce” (Kate Winslet, actress in a miniseries or made-for-TV movie).
Meanwhile, broadcast TV did get one major award — ABC’s “Modern Family” snagged the best comedy prize.
