An asteroid the size of the ship Titanic crashing into the planet Jupiter, creating a hole area of the Pacific Ocean, the scientists said. Collision which occurred in July 2009, is the same magnitude as the explosion five gigatons of TNT. Thanks to the new discovery, the mystery of a great circle on Jupiter has now been solved. Similarly, as quoted from IB Times, Wednesday (02/02/2011). Scientists say that the collision was the first asteroid collision on the planet Jupiter. Anthony Wesley, an amateur astronomer from Australia, who first saw the impact of an asteroid collision on Jupiter in July 2009.

“A mysterious object crashed into the planet Jupiter on July 19, 2009, leaving the pit area of the Pacific Ocean. Former collision was first seen by Australian astronomers in Australia, then following the observer placesall over the world, including NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope ,”wrote the Hubble website.

A similar collision occurred on the planet Jupiter 15 years ago, namely in July 1994, when more than 20 pieces of comet P / Shoemaker-Levy 9 (SL9) enters Jupiter’s atmosphere. The collision happened in 2009 was as strong as the explosion a few thousand nuclear bombs.

“The stain on the planet Jupiter occurs when an object hit the giant planet and exploded. The explosion was the same as thousands of nuclear bombs,” the statement on the Hubble website.
1 Years Ago Another Asteroid Impact Filmed By Ameteur Astronomers
Amateur astronomers Anthony Wesley (whose video this is) of Australia and Christopher Go of the Philippines have independently observed an impact event on Jupiter. The strike occurred at 20:31 UT on June 3rd, 2010 and produced a bright flash of light in the giant planet's cloudtops.
